International Friendship Program

The Center for Global Engagement has been working with the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and Ivy Tech, to engage with local families from the Terre Haute community to reestablish the International Friendship Program. In this program we introduce participating international students to a family in the community with the hope of: creating new friendships, increasing cultural awareness, integrating the international students into the local community, and helping both the local families and the students learn about customs and cultural from each other. In this way, the International Friendship Program provides both an enriching experience to the international students through experiential learning, as well as contributes to the broader Terre Haute community by demonstrating the diversity of cultures represented at ISU.
