Little Kids Rock
Basic knowledge of playing instrument is required.

Does your child love rock music and play guitar, bass, keyboards, drum kit or sing? This class gives children the opportunity to play music in a group-based environment, develop rehearsal and improvisational skills and gain experience playing an instrument. Students are required to have a basic understanding of their respective instruments. This includes playing on beat or knowing a few basic chords. Drum kit and keyboard/piano provided. Students playing electric guitar or bass must bring their own instruments. 

Singer/Songwriter
No previous music experience required.

Ages: 11 and up

Focusing on piano, guitar, and voice, students will compose songs and share them with the group. The workshop will cover basic pop song form, chord progressions, and performance experience. Students in this class will create, perform, and receive feedback on their work in an intimate and supportive environment.    

Kids Rock

This class is for students that love rock music and play guitar, bass, keyboards, drum kit or sing! We require that students entering this class have previously learned at least a few rock songs on their respective instruments in order to be familiar with the characteristics of the rock genre. Electric Bass and Guitar Workshop
Basic knowledge of playing instrument is required.

Guitar and Bass Workshop will teach students to play and interpret different styles of rock, blues, and jazz and  improvise over songs. Participants will learn how scales and keys relate to music composition and improvisation. Students require at least six months experience and a basic understanding of their instrument, as this camp will explore music theory as well. Students must bring electric guitar or bass and amp.   

Garage Band: Sound Mixing
No previous music experience necessary.

Ages: 9 and up

This course will introduce students to the techniques and procedures of creating digital music with various audio techniques. Students will use Pro Tools and Garage Band to learn the recording process using MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) technology. Each day’s lesson will focus on a different aspect of the process. Students will discover how to mix and edit on audio workstations. They will participate in session recording classes, laying down tracks, receiving a CD with their completed work at the end of the class.  

Bucket Drumming
No previous music experience required. 

Ages: 8 and up

This class will introduce students to patterns and songs using buckets and drum sticks to play. In a group environment, students will learn the basic sounds that bucket drumming has to offer and apply them to music, rhythm games, and other music-making activities. 

Intermediate Piano Camp
Students must have at least one year of piano experience.

Ages: 8-12

This camp is designed for children who have some prior experience in piano and wish to expand their studies on the keyboard. Throughout the week, students will learn chord progressions, major and minor scales, intermediate level music theory, and some pop songs to practice and perform. The week culminates with a demonstration for friends and family. 

The Terre Haute Guitar Club for Intermediate Students
Students must have at least 1 full academic year of Guitar Club classes or private music lessons and a basic understanding of reading music.

The Terre Haute Guitar Club for Intermediate Students offers children an opportunity to learn to play the guitar and create music while working with a group of peers. Students work on increasing guitar skills, musical concepts and theory through engaging games and activities. Guitars are supplied to students in-class.

Drum Kit Workshop
Students must have at least six months of drum kit experience.

Designed for students with some prior drum kit experience, this class will cover different drumming styles and beats. The small number of students (3) allotted for class will allow for one-on-one instruction and individualized lessons based on each student’s knowledge and experience.

This is an interactive class focusing on the basics of rhythm, pitch, and musical creativity. Instructors will demonstrate various percussion instruments, such as hand drums, in addition to pitched instruments, such as guitars. The objective of the class is to introduce both rhythmic and pitched instruments to students and play together as a group to make music and understand the relationships between each part.
