Designed for adults, 25 years of age and up, this class is for individuals with little or no musical background that want to learn to read music, play an instrument, and join others who are taking the same steps. As a member of the Community School of the Arts’ New Horizons Band, you will meet new friends and work with them as a team to learn music for concerts and other performances in the community. New Horizons ensembles typically perform many times each year in venues ranging from formal concerts to parks and other community locations. The CSA offers an easy and affordable rent-to-own instrument program. There is no long-term obligation so you can rent your instrument until you own it, or until you return it; it is up to you. Contact the CSA office for further details.

Information day is December 15, at 6:00 p.m. for newcomers thinking about joining the band. The regularly scheduled New Horizons class will be open for observation. Norm Hanson, Director of New Horizons will be available to answer questions. Instruments will be on display for you to try. Please join us to meet current students in the New Horizons program, enjoy refreshments and discover if New Horizons is the program foryou!
