The Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System™ (STARS) is a transparent, self-reporting framework for colleges and universities to measure their sustainability performance. STARS® was developed by AASHE, an acknowledged thought leader that advances sustainability by providing invaluable resources, with broad participation from diverse representatives of the higher education community.

ISU has been a STARS Silver school since November 2013; our Silver status was renewed in June 2016. You can view our 2013 STARS report here and our 2016 STARS report here. Our report will be updated again in 2019.

In 2014, ISU was recognized in the STARS Annual Review as one of 105 campuses nationally for best practices in sustainability, thanks in large part to our excellent record of community service. You can view the Annual Review here. ISU is featured on page 72.
