Artisan Trail

 Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail

Exploring the Flavors of  West Central Indiana

The Rural-Urban Entrepreneurship Development Institute (RUEDI) is convening a group to develop an Artisan Trail in West Central Indiana. Recently decided upon, the name is Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail. It was designed to creatively showcase talented local Indiana Artisans in their business environment, and to broaden the minds of local consumers and art enthusiasts through their work.

Who is a Rivers and Roads Artisan?

A crafts person. A maker of specialty cheeses. A creator of handmade stoneware. A painter. A beekeeper, a woodworker. A winemaker, a jewelry designer, a weaver. An Indiana Artisan is a Hoosier recognized for original works, careful attention to detail, knowledge of a craft and an entrepreneurial spirit. Their extraordinary talent contributes to Indiana's reputation for quality work. A showcase of Indiana's finest!

The goals of this trail are to:

  • Encourage Economic Development through small business and Artisan Entrepreneurship
  • Raise awareness about the talent and availability of locally-crafted products in West Central Indiana
  • Provide West Central artisans, particularly those in rural areas, with access to entrepreneurial support
  • Promote cultural tourism to West Central Indiana

The Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail will work with participants, retailers and our communities to showcase and sell high-quality, handcrafted products in selected stores and on the trail. You do not need to be a certified through Indiana Artisan to be a part of the Rivers & Roads Artisan Trail.
